The process of becoming a pro betting punter includes three or more stages and the first step is learning common bet types, their difference and the way they work. Keep in mind, covering 100% of possibilities is impossible whoever you are: professional or just a beginner.
The most-used and familiar to everybody. You have three possibilities: Home team win, Draw, Away team win. You choose one of them and wait for the end result. Nothing new.
Double Chance betting
Betting with a use of double chance option is similar to three-way betting, but allows you to choose two possible outcomes in one wager. Odds are much smaller than at simple three-way betting, but the possibility is 50% (when matched teams are playing). For example, you place “Team 1 win or Draw”, consequently you cover the draw outcome at the same time with winning outcome.
This is the one of the most popular types of bets, because it increases your chances of winning. The coefficients are also not very low sometimes (depends on who you are betting on: outsider or leader). Handicapping means that while betting, you are giving a head start to one of the teams, or you are taking it away. If the handicap is positive it means you are giving a head start (+2, +3, etc.), otherwise you are taking it away (-3, -4, etc.). For instance, you lay a bet Team 2(+1), so it means that one point will be added to total score of Team 2; if the total score of match is 1:1 (1:2, 1:3, 1:4, etc.), you will win your bet, if the total score is 1:0, you will get your stake back; in any other cases you lose.
Not easy type of betting, but perfectly suits if you want to make money by betting without serious risk-taking. The odds are also high, but predicting correct score of the exact half is not easy. If you want to win, you have to predict outcomes of both parts of the match.
Betting Over or Under (Total)
It relates to the total number of goals scored at full time of the match. It doesn’t cover overtime period, but includes added time. There are two types of this sports betting option, one is “returnable” and another is “irrevocable”. Return bets look like “over 2; over 3, etc.” and another type of this bet is irrevocable (over 2.5; over 1.5, etc.). It’s really simple for understanding and all the prediction depends on the analysis of score track record of the former matches of playing teams.
As it was said above, it’s just the short list of common betting types, including very basic information about them. If you want to get more about this, you would look for a betting guide or more thorough information in some other article.
Never fall for odds, remember that if they are high – they are uneasy to predict. Bookmakers are not dumb and they will never sink their money giving you a good chance of winning.
